Red Cedar Medical Center for Prevention and Physical Rehabilitation
The Red Cedar Center for Prevention & Physical Therapy is a 42,000 square foot two story facility. The exterior of the building is outlined with multi-level and curved rooflines and large drive under canopy. This project was phased so staff could continue to see patients during construction. Design features include: a spacious main floor lobby and waiting area, a large gymnasium and aerobics area, an aquatic therapy pool, therapy offices, and additional amenities such as patient locker rooms. A clerestory to the second level defines the main lobby as does an open stair case to the lower level. The interior space features curved walls to add interest to the space and work areas are designed to foster a lean thought process to help reduce clutter and provide a more functional work space.
The lower level features an Occupational Medicine Department which will serve as a single point of contact for all occupational health and worker’s compensation needs, including pre-employment evaluation and treatment of work-related injuries, etc. The second floor of the new building is designed as shell space for future growth at Red Cedar Medical Center.
